It’s Happening right now in southeastern Europe, where the influx of migrants is overwhelming the generous countries like Germany who had initially invited them.

Refugees2

Migrant refugees cross through fields in Slovenia toward Europe for a better life. They think.

The natural reaction to this astounding movement of humanity is unfortunately the exact opposite of what was originally hoped for.  Weapon sales are increasing across the EU (especially in Austria) and long-standing traditions and cultural icons are threatened.  Not since the defeat of the Muslims in the Jihad of 1683 by Sobeiski has there been seen such a force.

Europe is coming apart – culturally, physically and most of all economically.

John 3:22-31  He must become greater; I must become less. v.30

I need not seek to be recognized.  I can give honor to God whether or not I’m openly appreciated by others.  A Christ-first attitude can subdue any petty jealousies
or unhealthy competition.

I’m feeling thankful and searching for ways I can give back from what little I have left to give.

The Sky Is Not Falling

As a result of considerable research performed by Jacob Bronowski (and translated by Pierre Gosselin) using data compiled in a report by The International Federation of the Red Cross in Geneva, Switzerland, the Author concludes that the harbinger of death by climate is not forthcoming.

According to the Red Cross data, many of the deaths were due to cold, with 505 alone occurring in one country – Peru! Among the top disasters were brutal winters in the USA and japan – hardly what one would expect from “global warming.

I have just made a decision to “buffer” my reaction to the mainstream media.  Why?  I am getting a stomach ache after reading this about CNN.

CNN is dangerously close to becoming a complete propaganda machine.

Do you feel personally fulfilled after you turn the computer off following a session on facebook?  Or do you ‘brood’ over thoughts and ideas about your next newsfeed entry?

Facebook_posts

Reach out to reality.  Put facebook in perspective.

YOU’LL FEEL BETTER.

Connecting online with friends and family seems like a fun pastime that would enrich your life, but several studies report otherwise. Researchers at the University of Michigan found that the more time people spend on Facebook, the higher their chance of depression.

Another study, this one out of Utah Valley University, found that using Facebook can cause you to feel dissatisfied with your life. Researchers found “those who have used Facebook longer agreed more that others were happier, and agreed less that life is fair.”

Leave Facebook and you won’t compare your life with a snapshot of someone else’s.

I believe it was the Iranians who were burning our flag at our own embassy, if I am not mistaken.  This is supposed to be the result of peaceful negotiations.  Look Happy?

This past May, Salami said that Iran desires a war with the United States.

“We monitor their acts day and night and will take every opportunity to set fire to all their economic and political interests if they do a wrong deed,” Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the IRGC’s lieutenant commander, was quoted as saying in Tehran on Thursday. “We have prepared ourselves for the most dangerous scenarios and this is no big deal and is simple to digest for U.S.; we welcome war with the U.S. as we do believe that it will be the scene for our success to display the real potentials of our power,” he said at the time.

Let’s play a game of Russian Roulette.

You and I are seated at a table in a smoke filled room; there’s an old six shooter positioned perfectly between us with a single round floating in one of its chambers. The heavy aromas of mildew and fear cling to your skin causing you to perspire. We’re alone. There’s no one here to save us; the only entrance to the cell is destined to remain locked until only one of us remains. You’re scared. So am I. Our lives have been reduced to this moment where we’ll play a game of chance to see who survives. Nothing else matters right now. It’s just you and I.

There’s a coin beside the gun. We’ll flip to see who shoots first. I pick it up and use my thumb…

Donald Trump has taken over the 2016 Republican presidential primary campaign. Whether you agree or disagree with him, there’s no denying that his candidacy has been a powerful force in the race and has commanded a great deal of media attention.
Time will tell whether Trump’s campaign will be successful in winning the nomination, but he’s already been very successful at generating headlines. Despite his brash demeanor and highly questionable (some would say “hateful” or “stupid”) statements, as of this writing, Trump just keeps rising in the polls.
Regardless of what happens with Trump’s presidential campaign, he’s already a winner in the constant battle for public attention. Here are a few marketing lessons from Trump that any brand or political cause can emulate:

1. Know your audience.

Donald Trump doesn’t care if you love him or hate him. He’s playing to a very select crowd of voters who believe in…

So much for the Love Affair which Americans have with French Fries.  A new report out of the University of Alabama says that a ‘Southern Style’ diet increases the risk of heart attacks due to the prevalence of fried foods.  The journal “Circulation” published by The American Heart Association did a six year study and confirms it.

This is not totally new thinking.  And there is no denying that french fries are an amazing food that brings many taste sensations that top the list of our favorites.  But they are somehow seen as healthier than sugar loaded dishes and even potato chips (mostly also fried) and eaten often in abundance to ‘fill’ that hole in your stomach.  Why is it that we cast away common sense and indulge so heavily?

However – the wonderful creation brought by US Soldiers back to the USA after WWII from Belgium are even worse for you as once believed.

More evidence that fried food raises heart attack risk

I told myself not to weigh in on this subject because it is already gathering too many electrons – far beyond those which can actually bring progress to this existence we manage to preserve on this Earth.  SO I will allow Michelle Smith Glass to express herself as a qualified female person.

Did you ever wonder why individual American citizens don’t get the chance for a bailout? Let alone TWO?!?

Certainly not back by populist demand, the German government now seems prepared to stop the bitching and moaning long enough to support funding for the sequel to the first Greek Bailout box office flop and enable the EU to wrap up a second package of aid loans to help a struggling Greece or, to be more exact, the German banks that are now terribly exposed to a possible default there.

“Germany is considering dropping its push for an early rescheduling of Greek bonds in order to facilitate a new package of aid loans for Greece, according to people familiar with the matter. Berlin’s concession that it must lend Greece more money, even without burden-sharing by bondholders in the short term, would help Europe overcome its impasse over Greece’s funding needs before the indebted country runs out of cash in mid-July.”

But if you want any popcorn, you’re going to have to bring…

This is a very reasonable and well thought out blog entry by a young man I have had the pleasure of making my acquaintance with at a recent Justin Amash event.

If you are a Christian, then it is likely that a feeling of dismay overcame you in witnessing the ubiquitous and outright celebration of sin by our society: the mockery of Christ under its several masks stirs a deep sadness and dejection, generating heartache for His followers. Indeed, irrespective of one’s final convictions regarding the case, any Christian is probable to feel slight apprehension regarding the disconcerting direction of our society – in its many respects. Christians disappointed in the case have valid reasons to display disenchantment, but we must eschew the inadvertent acceptance of several…

You Can’t Please All of the People All of the Time

Social Media Applications such as Facebook created an avenue for the average American to express their opinions on a broad canvas.  Some people think they instantly transform into syndicated journalists.

But The truth Holds.  You Can’t Please All of the People All of the Time and you certainly cannot create laws to regulate opinions.  Or can you?  Lenin and Stalin made attempts at controlling public opinion and look what it got them.

Here is a recent offering made by “conservative” users on FB.  What’s the point?  And was this actually made by true conservatives?
